bonney de whole cake (wrong)

Jewelry Bonney
// Jewelry Bonney is from Whole Cake Island
–> Her Ship looks like it’s from Whole Cake Island (Zach)
<– NOPE 😛 Pretty much just wrong. She’s from South Blue, which is not New World. Well found, Schonberg @ comments! I’m leaving this up just for the sake of full transparency.
1. Look at the pattern of Whole Cake Island
2. It’s brief and subtle but definitely there: the pattern of Bonney’s ship

// Jewelry Bonney is somehow connected to Charlotte Linlin
–> Her Crew’s clothing hints at the possibility (El_Unico_Nacho’s original thread @ reddit)
1. This guy to the left of Bonney is wearing a shirt that says “Great Mam”
2. Here’s the manga version of that scene
–> Bonney is from Whole Cake Island (above), as is Linlin

I think this enough evidence to conclude that Bonney is most certainly from Whole Cake Island and is related in some capacity to Charlotte Linlin. Now, what type of relationship do they have?

A. // Bonney is Linlin’s daughter
–> Pure speculation
–> This does give some explanation as to why Bonney would “never forgive” Akainu post-Whitebeard’s war. Linlin and Whitebeard definitely knew of each other. In fact, if Bonney and Linlin are in fact related, Bonney’s strong reaction implies that the two Yonkou were actually friends. Linlin did go claim Fishman Island almost immediately after his death, after all.
–> Also gives an explanation as to why the World Government cares about her escape. Just off the top of my head, it could be a situation where Linlin hasn’t gone after the World Government because they had her daughter hostage or something, blah blah blah. 😀

B. // Bonney is just some associate of Linlin
–> Pure speculation
–> Gives the same level of explanation as to why Bonney was so mad at Akainu, just a little less so because Bonney was so angry.

Questions Unanswered: Why Bonney is so mad at Akainu.
Will add more later as things develop! Which should be really soon.

  1. well i guess that explains the HUGE appetite of those too.
and then there’s also Lola from thriller bark, there are quite a few speculations that the mother she was referring to is Big mam.

might seem like a far fetched theory, but an idea that came to me recently is that Bonney might be a potential nakama. we dont know her whereabouts as of the moment, and it seems she’s being held by the marines. if, for example, the strawhats save her along the way, she might become a member of the crew. lol. very random theory iknow. (and i was kinda hoping they’d get a new girl crew member too.XD, aside from jimbei of course)

  2. I think Jewelry Bonney has a big role to play with both the World Government and a lot of stuff in general. She was clearly crest-fallen over either Ace’s or Whitebeard’s death. If it was Ace, it could be to do with either the fact he is a D or because she was potentially romantically involved in some way. I really like the idea that it could be Sabo in female form haha that would be fantastic. I actually wouldn’t mind hearing more Sabo theories as I think it is a very important thing and I want to hear how and why people believe he exists because I really want him to be alive and for him to join Luffy on his quest. I doubt Bonney is Sabo though, honestly. If she is upset about Whitebeard, a potential child or grandchild of his perhaps? Her age altering power could have a lot to do with a lot of people and could have kept many people in special states! She could very well be an ancient being in reality and is concealing her true age. She could be a prisoner of the WG because of her very sensitive knowledge on a lot of things which I am certain she has. Jewelry Bonney is one to be looked out for in the future.

    • i think the problem with the sabo being alive thing is we don’t have any reason to think that he’s alive or dead. kuina, for example, had her grave shown on a cover so we know for sure she isn’t some sort of tashigi reincarnate. but sabo, i don’t know how much evidence we have going either way

the bonney is sabo thing was otherwise a joke 😛 but i guess the problem with me making it is it’s not impossible lol
and you bring up an awesome idea that bonney is actually really old with a ton of knowledge about the wg. the possibilities with her become pretty endless if in fact she reverse-ages people and doesn’t just turn them in to a baby physically. do we know either way? i’m not sure!

  3. Only one problem with Bonney being from Whole Cake Island.
She is stated to be a South Blue Native. Whole Cake Island is in the New World.
Even if she was from Whole Cake Island, why would she sail all the way from the South Blue to the New World instead of starting off there?

  4. I just thought of something, And seriously take it in to consideration. What if bonney was Big Mam? Since she can change her age and stuff? Now I know she got caught when she was in her “normal” form, but what if that just makes her weaker momentarily. And that could explain how she “escaped” as well. She could be apart of a big plot that we don’t know about yet. My mind is going wide with explanations. Big Mam could turn into “Bonney” to explore more easily and less suspiciously as Big Mam. This theory could also explain why she was so upset about Whitebeard. ANd lets not forget her sweet tooth and hunger. We don’t even know where Big Mam is from. She could be from south Blue. In any case I am sure Big Mam has another agenda in the pirate race besides becoming the Pirate king like Kaidou, so it stands to reason that she would investigate various of things outside of the Line, to further strengthen herself. We really don’t even know why Big Mam’s a pirate and what she is after. We are assuming ONe piece, but the way oda writes that might not be the case. So if Bonney ends up being Big Mam, Interesting will be the least way to describe the situation. This is speculations, but an interesting thought none the less.

    • this is such a crazy awesome idea. it totally seems to work based on everything you said above. bonney is connected, ‘escaped’ from akainu somehow.. so would oda go through all that trouble to name her charlotte linlin..? yeah, probably!

maybe she has to eat someone to change back in to bonney, or something. but that would also mean akainu doesn’t even know when he called her bonney http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v58/c595/9.html which is suspect, because you’d think admirals know everything about the yonkou but maybe not. i still think there’s some sort of relationship there

      • Agreed. This thought is so tantalizing in a lot of ways. A lot of questions can be answered And Oda is just brilliant. Though even if this is not the cause I am sure Oda will have some other brilliance up his sleeve. But man the possibilities Oda leaves for himself never ceases to amaze me.
